sheltered view
2010 - 2014
acrylic on wood panel
16 x 20 x 1.5
This piece confronts our mediated interaction with our land; the land is divided and broken by the road and bridge, but the view is one of the more common ways we look at the landscape. The signs of technological mediation remain present in the work : the tip of the dashboard and the polarization of the top of the windshield. This brings the viewer closer to the landscape, but reminds us of the barrier that still remains between. SOLD
